When i watch this one in the series i think the dream warriors were going to fight Freddy again so i knew the first time that most of the survivors of the dream warriors were going to see Freddy again so that element of fear for the kids helped this movie really be something special. the cast were Rodney Eastman,Andras Jones.Tuesday Knight and the dream man Robert Englund and these guys were our main focus for the movie and the obvious potential Freddy victims. i like this one not because it was a direct follow up to the last movie although that helped it a lot i liked it because it wasn't afraid to make Freddy funny and start him out as a super killer who is not afraid to get his hands dirty so while this had a lot of the same stuff from the the first couple of movies i really didn't mind and the effort put into this movie meant that newline did care about this series and its fans and this installment is proof

The original 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' is still to me one of the scariest and best horror films there is, as well as a truly great film in its own right and introduced us to one of the genre's most iconic villains in Freddy Krueger. It is always difficult to do a sequel that lives up to a film as good as 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' let alone one to be on the same level. While the best of the sequels from personal opinion is the third, the fourth one is another one of the series' better sequels. Like the third film it is not on the same level as the original, a very difficult feat, but it does have enough of what is a large appeal of the original and why it works so well. Not perfect, but a lot of very good things. 'The Dream Master' is not without its flaws. With a couple of exceptions, the acting is largely wooden (while not the worst offender as such, Tuesday Knight is no Patricia Arquette) and the beginning rock song is really cheesy and feels out of place. The story at times gets a little silly. However, Lisa Wilcox is a winning lead and Robert Englund continues to terrify as the iconic character that epitomises "what nightmares are made of". 'The Dream Master' is to me the second best directed sequel, courtesy of Renny Harlin, giving a potentially clichéd premise freshness and imagination.Special effects are neatly executed. The humour is darkly comic and very funny and there are some wickedly cracking one-liners. The scares are aplenty and they are legitimately creepy with some cool deaths (the water bed one is a strong example) and amazing dream sequences thrown into the mix. Alice being flung into the on-screen action from the cinema balcony is one of the series' most marvellous highlights. It's a beautifully photographed film, particularly the dream sequences, and is the most unique-looking 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' sequel with its European art-horror visual style. The production design is both dream-like and nightmare while the music is suitably haunting.Overall, good sequel and one of the series' better ones. 7/10 Bethany Cox

There's one effect in this one that's really nuts (suck face), but otherwise it's incompetent and lazy: the deaths, scares, stories, and characters scream of a franchise that has officially fallen asleep. The series started to jump into camp here, with bad karate, useless nudity and really stupid shock attempts. It's just a tonal disaster, and Renny Harlin is a creep who should be ashamed of himself.

Lisa Wilcox is the best heroine of the 80's ever. I have enjoyed this film much more than the critics have stated. I love this film to death it is definitely in my top 5 best "Elm Street" series, It is one of my personal favorite slasher horror movies. It is my number 5 favorite "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movie and my all time favorite slasher film in the horror genre. Not a bad slasher everyone is saying. Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood should have learn from this movie because I have enjoyed this movie way more as slasher than stupid Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood that sucked! Lisa Wilcox as Alice Johnson wasn't winning like some little girl who lost her doll like Lar Park-Lincoln as Tina Shepard did, who was so beyond annoying in that movie that I have turned it off. Lar Park-Lincoln sucks! This movie kicks-ass and Alice Johnson is a likable character a bad-ass heroine who saved all those kids from Freddy she wasn't winning and stupid like Tina (from Friday the 13th part 7) she try to prevent Freddy hurting anyone else. A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master was this time directed by Renny Harlin who directed Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, Deep Blue Sea, Mindhunters, The Long Kiss Goodnight. The director directed well this movie he know what he was doing and I have enjoy this movie so much. The movie is mixed with action, horror and it is a supernatural slasher flick. The resurrection scene for Freddy (Robert Englund) was bad-ass, excellent in which Jason the dog resurrected him back from the dead. In the movie Freddy vs. Jason, Freddy resurrected Jason back to life. Robert Englund's performance as Freddy Krueger is still creepy and terrifying, I have enjoyed Robert's performance as "The Springwood Slasher". The death scene are still good gore not as Part 3 had the best kills this movie has solid kills. Lisa Wilcox is brilliant and the best heroine of the 80's ever as Alice Johnson. Alice is the Dream Master, the protector and controller of good dreams is excellent heroine. Alice is a shy, lovely teenager with a widowed alcoholic father gradually gathers the courage to assert herself in taking on Freddy and in the process wins the love of the handsomest boy (Danny Hassel) in her school. I love love the actress so much even in the sequel The Dream Child because her character was never killed off. She is my second favorite heroine in the "Elm Street" series the first one will be Nancy Thompson. I love Lisa Wilcox performance so much Tuesday Knight was beautiful and good as Kristen Parker who replaced Patricia Arquette because she was pregnant at the time and her agent wanted more money so New Line Cinema refused and Tuesday Knight replaced the actress. I have enjoyed Patricia Arquette as teen more in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors but Tuesday Knight was so good that she even wrote a song for this movie Nightmare and I love it. Her iconic cult classic song "Nightmare" is heard in the opening credits of 1988's. The movie has such a good soundtracks: Don't Be Afraid Of Your Dreams by Go west, Anything, Anything by Dramarama, Back To The Wall by Divinyls, Are You Ready For Freddy? The Fat Boys and Robert Englund and of course Nightmare by Tuesday Knight the best song ever. I also love Andras Jones as Rick brother of Alice I love the guy. It is been 30 year anniversary and no one talks about this film. I miss movies like this today it is my personal favorite horror slasher film I have enjoy it more than A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, It Follows, It (2017), A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) the remake, The Hitcher (2007) remake, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and of course A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child.I love the battle in the church, Alice begins and her final battle against Freddy. She uses the abilities from her friends and her brother to fight her enemy. She hits him in the face, chest, torso, abdomen and legs for several times, then uses Sheila's electronic zapper to create a strong laser light that goes through his stomach, weakening him.It is my fifth favorite slasher film in "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series it is a good decent sequel better than 2,5,6 and even horrible remake. Don't believe the haters I love this film to death. :P

Its funny how I stumbled on to the Nightmare on Elm Street Serises. I was about 8 or 9 at the time. My father and I had a great relationship. He would take me to a movie every week. I was the envy of all the other kids because he didn't care if a movie was rated R or what. So here I am looking to go to our Friday movie and my dad is looking in the paper asking me what I want to see. He asked me if I was ready for my first scary movie. I jumped for joy when he asked me that. At that time I hadn't really seen a true scary movie yet. Just the ones that where on during Halloween. So off we went me and my dad. I remember how nervous I was because I didn't know what to expect. Here I am 9 years old in the movie line with all these teenagers grabbing there girlfriend waste and making scary faces trying to scare them. I just grabbed my fathers hand very tight and made my way in.Wow! My first scary movie I thought to myself well here it goes. I remember asking my dad if Freddy was real about 10 times during the movie. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I was in love with horror. I Was Freddys number 1 fan after this movie. I bought all the older movies. I really liked number 1 and thought number 2 was really weird back then. Anyways I love this movie for all the right reasons. There is a lot of gore. A lot of cheesy acting and just plain fun. I am not going to give anything away just go wacth it for yourself. You will love it.
